Nicole B. Becker, D.M.D. Cosmetic Dentist
Dr. Becker first declared she wanted to become a dentist when she was five years old. Her mother certainly played a large role in this revelation. While her mother was not able to practice as a dentist for many years in the United States due to her foreign degree, her passion for the career was passed on to Dr. Becker. She valued the meaningful relationships a dentist forms with their patients and loved the idea of sculpting smiles. When Dr. Becker was thirteen, she began shadowing dentists and discovered the fusion of art and science that dentistry allows. She also grew to appreciate the valued role a dentist can play in a community. As she further discovered the importance of oral health and overall health, Dr. Becker was certain of her path forward. She sometimes jokes that being a dentist is in her DNA as she has several family members in the field.
Dr. Becker loves the team environment that CIDC provides as everyone has one goal in mind, which is to deliver the best care possible to patients. Whether the office is seeing a patient to improve their smile, establishing trust with a patient who has had poor dental experiences, or helping someone get out of pain, everyone is all hands in. This allows Dr. Becker to enjoy what she loves most about dentistry: forming strong and trusting relationships with her patients. She also believes that the state of the art technology that allows her to provide high level care is not too shabby. One of the aspects that Dr. Becker loves about general dentistry is that she performs a little bit of everything in order to allow for comprehensive care. Her particular interest is in preventative care, but once a patient requires dental work, she is happy to care for patients in a calm and relaxing environment. Dr. Becker is comfortable performing restorations/dental fillings, root canals, dental crowns, dental bridges, and simple orthodontic work with clear aligners. Dr. Becker attended Tufts University where she majored in Biology and Community Health. She was also a student athlete and competed on the sailing team. After graduating from Tufts, Dr. Becker attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, she was honored to receive the Procter and Gamble Scholarship for her work in seeking scientific and applied clinical knowledge as a dental student. Upon graduation, she was awarded the International College of Dentists Student Leadership Award and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Student Award. Dr. Becker is heavily involved in organized dentistry and enjoys continuing her education through various memberships. Since graduating in 2017, Dr. Becker has been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Association of University Women, New Haven Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. She is the current President of the New Haven Dental Association and serves on various committees for the Connecticut State Dental Association. Dr. Becker grew up outside of Boston in Brookline, Massachusetts. If you mention Boston, she will insist that you visit her favorite taqueria place, Anna’s Taqueria. Dr. Becker enjoys working out, watching stand up comedy, and most of all, playing with her mini Bernedoodle, Mellie.
